Friday 7:00pm arrival (allow 30 minutes driving time north of Edmonton)
Sunday 3:00pm pick-up

Directions: From Fort Road & 137 Avenue, go north on Manning Fwy. Turn left/north onto Hwy 28A. Cross Hwy 37. Continue on 28A to the Town of Gibbons.
Take the first left/west into Gibbons, on 50 Avenue.
Drive through town (5 blocks) and turn left/south onto 51 Street.
Follow this all the way around town and through the residential area; continue around the curves past the new construction, until Landing Trail School appears on the left.

Packing List ...

BAND CAMP #3 May 09-11, 2008

Here is the packing list. Please use the best judgment for your child/children. The number of items are suggestions. All items MUST fit into the child's duffel bag with the exception of instrument/flag. It is recommended to pack into bags within the duffel bag (e.g. clothing in a soft-sided suitcase/ backpack; ziplock with socks/ underwear; toiletries bag with brush/comb, toothbrush/paste, shampoo/conditioner; grocery bags for shoes; swimbag with swimwear/ towel/comb/shampoo in swim bag if on list; include a laundry bag) to make it easier for the kids to find stuff and keep it organized.

MONEY: NOT NEEDED for Camp weekends [approx. $5/day is recommended on Tour]

BAND EQUIPMENT: Be sure to remember instrument, music & stand, flags/rifles & props. Uniforms will be issued at Camp; those whose uniform deposit is paid will take their uniforms home

UNIFORM: Bring complete uniform, including Band jacket, hung neatly in garment bag, for re-fitting and ensuring all parts are in place.

OUTDOOR CLOTHING: Sabers Band jacket plus another coat according to the weather, comfortable closed walking shoes (e.g. runners)

BEDDING: light sleeping bag, camp mat (prefer closed-cell, no cots), pillow, extra blanket (e.g. fleece), [slippers, sleep toy]

CLOTHING: 2 shirts, 2 pants, 2 underwear, 2 pr socks, pyjamas (top/bottom, no nightgowns), indoor shoes REQUIRED! (non-marking, good for marching), solid outdoor shoes (runners preferred)

SWIM BAG: NOT NEEDED for Camp [swim suit, beach towel, [optional: shampoo, comb, goggles, water shoes]]

PERSONAL NEEDS: towel, face cloth, comb/brush (for personal use only), toothbrush/toothpaste, [shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant; feminine hygiene products if needed]

CARRY-ON BACKPACK: [esp. for Summer trips] water bottle, sun hat, sunscreen, lip balm, kleenex, (camera), quiet-time activities (e.g. books, diary/journal, deck of cards, small board games, electronic games)

Mark all items with band member's name. All articles must fit in duffel bag, except uniform & instrument/flag.

NO gum/candy, NO flashlights, NO cell phones

Medication must be in a sealable plastic bag, with member's name and written instructions for administration, given to Chaperones Director or designate.

The Edmonton Sabers Marching Band will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or broken articles.
